Erin (Gilbert) Wurdeman, 60, of Breezy Point, MN died Saturday, June 15, 2019 at her home. A Memorial Service for Erin will be 3:00PM, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Crosslake Lutheran Church in Crosslake, with Pastor Kristin Oltmann officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3PM at the church. A spaghetti dinner will follow services in honor of Erin.
Erin was born on March 2, 1959. She grew up in Bloomington, MN, graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1977, and then attending Luther Deaconness School of Nursing, where she graduated as an RN in 1981. She spent the next 38 years dedicating herself to her patients, first at Fairvew in Minneapolis, then at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.
Erin was a devoted single mother and family member. She was a dedicated and selfless mom who supported and cherished every moment of her son Kale’s life. She endured trials during her life but persevered and came out stronger. Erin enjoyed living an adventurous life and always dreamed of doing the most she could. Her love was unconditional and her encouragement endless. Erin radiated kindness and embodied life. She showed us what it meant to be a truly amazing woman. Not to mention, she was hilarious, and had the best sense of humor.
Erin is survived by her son, Kale (Miranda) Wurdeman; parents Gerald and Elaine Gilbert; brother Terry Gilbert; sisters Shawn (Morteza) Hashemi-Rad, Shelley Norton; her sister-in-law Sue (Mark) Peterson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be missed by all.
