Erin Eugene O'Neil was many things to many people, a father, a son, a brother, an uncle and a friend. He was the kind of man who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. Above all else his purpose was to help people. He celebrated his 34th year clean and sober and sought to help others achieve similar milestones. He was a man of science, and a lover of the fantastical. He loved to laugh at his own jokes as he was funny, though his brand of humor was lost on some. The world is smaller and left wanting after the passing of a great man, of which there are too few. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Erin began his quest on March 15th 1966 in Tacoma, WA and completed it May 5th, 2020 surrounded by family.
Erin is survived by his daughters Catherine Barnes (Maple Grove), Peggy Stephens (Seattle Washington), Charleen O’Neil (Dallas Texas); sons Samuel O’Neil (Brainerd), Sean O’Neil (Brainerd); brothers Sean O’Neil (Brainerd), Shannon (Elizabeth) O’Neil (Burnsville MN); sisters Cindy Nelson (Dwight Gregg) (Coon Rapids, MN), Peggy O’Neil (Scott Philips) (Brooklyn Center, MN), Colleen Kounkel (Kurt) (Brainerd, MN); grandsons Finn and Sterling; granddaughters Elle, Reilly, Grace, Quinn, Reilly and Lizzie; nephew Blake; nieces Hunter, Libby and Hannah.
Preceded in death by his parents Roger (Podge) O’Neil, Charleen (Rehling) O’Neil and brother Joseph O’Neil.
