Eric Loose

Eric Loose , age 68, of rural Pillager, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, September 3, 2016. Memorial services will be Wednesday, September 7, at 7 PM, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Visitation will be at Kolden Funeral Home from 5-7:00 PM, prior to the service. Eric Roy Loose was born July 3, 1948 to Milo and Carol (Rethwill) Loose, in St. Peter, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church of Le Sueur. While in high school he was active in FFA. He graduated from Le Sueur High School with the class of 1966. Upon graduation he did his basic training at Ft. Ord, in California. He was active in the Army Reserve for sixteen years. He attended Faribault Vocational School. On May 11, 1968 he was united in marriage to Janet Dressel. They were blessed with four children: Lisa, Michelle, Matthew, and Erin. They later divorced. He resided in Mt. Lake for 18 years, and was employed at Balzer Manufacturing. He was a volunteer EMT for the Mt. Lake Ambulance. He also taught firearm safety, and taught Sunday school at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a member. On September 10, 1993 he was united in marriage to Ann (Gilronan) Ahlbrecht. They later moved to Wishek, ND, Wadena, MN, and, most recently, to Pillager, where he retired from Tri County Health Ambulance as a paramedic. Upon retirement, he and his wife enjoyed spending time gardening and canning, hunting, fishing, bird watching, and riding his new tractor. He was a frequent contributor at the corner of knowledge. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, dedication to family, his personal relationship with the Lord, and his love of teaching. Eric is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughter, Lisa Tressler and her children, Josh, Elizabeth, Jessica, and Hannah; his daughter, Michelle (David) Koslowski and her children, Krista, Cody, Tyler, and Matthew; his son, Matthew Loose; and his daughter Erin (Jason) Hassebroek and her children, Kaleb, Kyle, Kalen, and Kole; his stepson, Jerry Ahlbrecht; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Tanner; siblings, Gail (Jim) Maconkey, Beth Ann Smith, Lynn Rydberg, Kent (Pam) Loose, Mary (Duane) Tiegs, and Kirk (Jean) Loose; a sister-in-law, Linda Loose; and a brother-in-law, John Gilronan.
