Eric Brunes

Eric Allen Brunes, 54, of Pine River, succumbed to lung cancer at his home on Rush Lake on June 28, 2016. Eric was born to James and Allison Brunes at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd, MN, on November 11, 1961.

Eric is survived by his children and stepchildren: Stephanie (David) Berlien, Christina Brunes, Jessica Brunes, Nicholas (Diondra) Putnam, Stephanie (Curtis) Reule, Cassie Putnam; 11 grandchildren; his siblings: Gary Brunes, Diane Brunes, Patricia (Roger) Kline, Gayleen (Thomas) Royce; and sister-in-law, Barbara Brunes. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Allison Brunes; his brother, Bruce Brunes; nephew, Jeremy; and several aunts and uncles.

Considered a free spirit by those closest to him, Eric loved adventure! Whether it be driving a race car, snowmobile, three wheeler, going hunting, fishing or searching for agates, geodes, and other gem stones. He liked to travel and discover new things! Outgoing and friendly, Eric loved to be around people. He could talk for hours! Being quite family oriented, holidays and traditions were always very important to him. He was sentimental in being the one to hold onto family heirlooms to pass on to his children. Down to earth and kind, Eric was very easy to get to know. He loved his family more than they could ever know! He was definitely one of a kind and will be greatly missed by many!

Saturday, July 9th, there will be a day of remembrance for Eric. This will take place out at the Brunes family park at 11am. The address is ABC Drive in Crosslake. There will be signs to direct you further.
