Emmett Munson

Emmett Frank Munson, age 84, of Pine River, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018, at the St. Cloud VA. He was born to Lewis and Sarah Munson on June 17, 1933, in Darling Township, MN. Emmett served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1962. He married Shirley Harrington on April 24, 1959. They later divorced. Emmett moved to Red Wing and worked at Meyer Industries for many years. Upon retirement he returned to live in Pine River.

Emmett is survived by his son, David (Kathy); daughters: Kathy Bille (Byron), Debbie Troxler (Steve), Danelle Johnson (David); grandchildren: Travis Munson, Julie Smith (Geoff), Sarah Munson, Jerrod Johnson (fiancée Kissryn), Wesley Troxler; great grandson, Easton Johnson; sister, Sarah Schneider; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Munson, Elaine Munson and Shirley Munson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lewis, Robert and Kenneth; sister, Nellie Zacharda; and brothers-in-law, Robert Zacharda and Elmer Schneider.

Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, January 20, at Little Falls Baptist Church, Little Falls. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
