Emma Miller

Emma Miller, age 88, of Leader, passed away at the Lakewood Care Center, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. A Funeral Service is planned for Friday, June 1st, at 11:00 AM at the Motley Free Methodist Church, with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be at the Swan Valley Cemetery, in Leader.

Emma was born on May 5, 1924, to Steve and Sophia (Battory) Vargo, in Pine River, MN. She graduated from Pine River High School in 1942. She married Clifford Miller on August 31, 1946 in Pequot Lakes, MN, and together the two farmed for 55 years.

Emma is survived by her children, Marlene Miller of Santa Anna, CA, Susan Miller of Santa Anna, CA, David (Jackie) Miller of Motley; grandchildren, Christine (Christopher) Ragain, Amy (Ken Miller) Miller, and Daniel (Amanda Turner); great-grandchildren, Natalie Emma Miller and Emma Rose Ragain; brothers, Frank (Irene) Vargo and Gilbert Vargo; and a sister, Helen Heino. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
