Emma Mckenney

Princess Emma Elizabeth McKenney was born January 12th, 2006, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, Minnesota. From birth, and every day of her life, Emma fought with a mitochondrial disease and an undiagnosed neuromuscular disease to stay alive. Emma's favorite activities were playing with a toy flower on her swing, playing with balloons, going to the aquarium, twirling her hair in her fingers, having stories read to her, watching Spongebob and listening to her mom sing to her. Being the princess of the family also meant you could spot her in a new outfit almost every day. Sadly, Emma lost the fight with her diseases on the evening of Sunday March 24th, 2013, at the St. Cloud Hospital.


Our princess will be forever missed by her family and friends, especially her mom, Margo; brothers: Sean, Liam, Evan, William; sisters, Alyssa, Lexie, MiKayla; stepdad, Bill; grandparents, Laura, Marlowe, Bill; niece, Skylar; and friends, Danielle, Cassie, Shawn, Shannon and Vi.


Emma was preceded in death by her brother, Corey, and grandpa, Edward.


Services will be held Wednesday April 3rd, 2013 at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at noon at Kline Funeral Home in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. Burial will follow at Bethel Lutheran Church cemetery, Brainerd, with lunch provided after.
