Emerald Randall

Emerald Randall, age 86, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples on Tuesday, September 9. The funeral will be Saturday, September 13, at 11:00 am, at the Assembly of God Church in Staples with Revered Roy Miles officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Emerald was born May 5, 1922 in Villard Township, Todd County, MN, A son of Chester M. and Mary E (Welch) Randall. He grew up south of Staples and attended Philbrook School. He was united in marriage to Beatrice E Carney on February 19, 1941 in Pine River. Following their marriage they moved to Crosby, then to Brainerd, and finally to Staples. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Rays Promenaders square dance group; and enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing cards.

Emerald is survived by his son, Scott of Staples; grandson, Danny of Grand Rapids; sister, Gladys Christiansen; sister in law, Mildred Randall; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; his parents; his brothers, Harold, Arthur, and Wilbur; and a sister Lylah.
