Elsie Hedy

Elsie Hedy, age 81, formerly of Brainerd, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at her daughter?s home in Mounds View. Memorial services will be Friday, June 25, 2 p.m., at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with Captain Brian Reed officiating. Friends may visit for one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.
Elsie Mildred Miles was born April 20, 1923 in Brainerd, to Warren and Alfreda (Kammerer) Miles. She grew up and graduated high school in Brainerd. She was united in marriage to William ?Harley? Hedy, whom she had known all her life, November 11, 1942, in Valley City, North Dakota. They lived and raised their family in Brainerd. Elsie worked as a manager at Montgomery Ward for thirty years. She was widowed after 42 years of marriage, and had lived with her daughter in Mounds View for the past 8 years. She attended the Salvation Army Church. She had been a member of the Florence Rebecca Lodge and Degree of Honor for fifty years.

Elsie is survived by her children, Rla Hedy, of Mounds View, and Harley, Jr. (Janet) Hedy of Willmar; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Her parents, her husband, a brother, and a grandson preceded her in death.
