Ellyn Tracy

Ellyn Louise Tracy (nee Hunt), 84, of Pequot Lakes passed away on November 27th, 2023, at home with her husband, Dale Tracy, by her side. Ellyn was born on July 10, 1939, to William and Sybil (Bixler) Hunt in Minneapolis, MN. She met Dale at church and they became partners in life. Ellyn was a kind, loving, funny, and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. Ellyn worked as a baker at Jerry’s foods in Eden Prairie, MN. While she enjoyed her work, she often dreamed of retirement and enjoying her life. She and Dale would travel in their RV and found additional community in Florida in the winter. She loved spending time at the lake; when retired her and Dale built their dream house near Lake Ossawinnamakee. Ellyn built an amazing community everywhere she went and would light up any room she walked into. Ellyn loved golf and playing cards. She was a sports fan and loved watching golf and football with her family and friends.

Ellyn is survived by her husband, Dale Tracy, children; Dale William (Jeanne) Tracy, Scott (Deann Gowin) Tracy, Jeffery (Sheri Cheney) Tracy; grandchildren Amber (Shane) Ortlepp, Amy (Matt) Johnson, Kenneth (Jonnay) Tracy, Kaisha Tracy, Jenny Tracy; brother Richard Rowland, and several great grandchildren; special niece Toni Aicher; and many extended family and friends. Ellyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob Rowland, and two daughter in laws, Kathryn (Scott) Tracy and Carla (Jeff) Tracy. Special thank you to Zinesh from Baywood Home Care.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4-6 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Crosslake, MN. Funeral Services will take place at 11 am on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, 500 Blake Road South, Edina, MN and a visitation will begin one hour prior to services. The interment will take place at Grandview Park Cemetery, 6901 Maloney Avenue, Hopkins, MN.
