Elizabeth Pearson

Elizabeth "Betty" Pearson, 83, of Motley, MN died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Betty at 11:00AM, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley, MN. Interment will follow at 2:00PM at Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery near Little Falls, MN.

Betty was born October 8, 1931 to Charles and Margaret (Eiler) Thornton in Fargo, ND. She graduated from high school at Milnor, ND.. Betty was united in marriage to Marvin Pearson on June 9, 1952 in Milnor, ND. Together they owned and operated a custom meat processing plant called Marv's Lockers in Nashua, MN. Later, they moved to Motley in 1980 and Betty worked for Batcher's Department Store for a number of years. Betty enjoyed re doing furniture, reading, playing card games, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her husband, Marvin; children, Craig (Margie) of Hot Springs, SD, Joel of Twin Valley, MN, Fabia (Danny) Mohn of Wahpeton, ND, Colt (Teresa) of Breckenridge, MN; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Bernard Thornton. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret; brother, Kenneth and sister, Marsha Jo. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
