Elizabeth Packer

September 19, 1909 — October 8, 2006

Elizabeth "Lib" V. Packer, age 97, of Cushing, passed away on Sunday morning at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday Oct 11th, at 10:30 am at the Randall Funeral Home with Pastors Christopher and Heather Culuris officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 4-7 at the Randall Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the Cushing Union Cemetery.
Elizabeth was born on September 19, 1909 in Young America, MN to Allen and Ida (Postelwaite) Packer. She attended school in the area and graduated from the 8th grade. On May 7, 1927 she married Ethan Packer in Lester, MN. She worked for a time at the Mount Olivet Church in the Twin Cities, before she and Ethan moved to Cushing to raise their family. Elizabeth was a founding member of the Cushing Willing Workers Club as well as serving as the School board Clerk for District 159. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making rag rugs, gardening, picking blueberries, canning, trout fishing, and spinning her own yarn. She was also a wonderful cook and a baker.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Laura Mae (Robert) Powell, Betty (Chester) Loberg, Allen Packer, and Annie Sharon; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Jeff Packer; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ethan; her parents; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; a son-in-law, Don; and her little chihuahua, Tiger.
