Eleanor Wareing

Eleanor J. Wareing, 92, of Crossslake, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 27 at Crosslake Presbyterian Church. Gathering time will be one hour prior to the services a lunch will follow.

Eleanor moved from St. Paul to Crosslake in 1965, where she started Crosslake's first sanitation service, Blue Lakes Disposal, with her second husband, Morris Wareing. In the seventies, they moved to Knife River and built an earth-sheltered home looking out over Lake Superior. The couple enjoyed spending their summers living in their yacht on the lake. They moved back to this region on Fifty Lakes before moving to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico after spending many winters there.

Eleanor was a loving and caring mother. She enjoyed fishing and hunting with Morris and playing bridge and mahjong with her friends. She was a member of the Crosslake Lions Club and the Crosslake Presbyterian Church. She was a published author of two children's books.

She will be missed by her sons, Roger W. (Sarah Dagg) Lynn, of Crosslake and Richard (Jyl Simpson) Lynn Jr., of California; granddaughter Mary Karen Lynn (Markus) Lynn-Klimenko and their children, Aidan, Ted, and Simon; granddaughter, Susan Lynn and her daughter Tahlea; granddaughter, Lyndsey (Gary) Olson, and their children, Jennifer and Megan; granddaughter Rebekah (John) Wharton and their children John Paul and Kate; and grandson Richard Gregg Lynn III. She was preceded in death by her sister Lillian Cuthbertson, her first husband, Richard Lynn; and her second husband Morris Wareing.

Internment of her ashes will take place at a later date this summer. Memorials may go to the Crosslake Presbyterian Church or the Crosslake Volunteer Fire and Emergency Service.
