Elda Weihemuller was born on September 8, 1917 and died on January 4, 2017 at Edgewood Vista at the age of 99. Services will be held at a later date.
She was the daughter of Charles and Pauline (Streibel) Rappuhn and was born at home near Fessenden, ND. She attended Emerick grade school and graduated from Fessenden High School. She attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, then returned to Fessenden to work for the Wells County ASCS office. On March 8, 1941 she married George Weihemuller in Fessenden. They were married for 66 years when George passed away in 2007. When George entered the army on July 10, 1942 Elda went back to work at the Well County ASCS office in Fessenden for a year and then went to work for the National Fam Loan Association in Fessenden. After George returned from the Army in 1946, he started working for Standard Oil Company. The family transferred several times, living in Rugy, Langdon, and Wahpeton, ND. In 1976 George retired and they moved to Pickerel Lake near Amor, MN. In July 1999 they moved to Fergus Falls. Elda moved to Baxter, MN in 2013. Elda enjoyed watching the Minnesota sports teams, and spending with her family. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN.
Elda is survived by son, Gary (Iris) of Baxter, and daughter, Carold (Richard) Dertinger of Ottertail; granddaughters, Kristin Meech and Angie (Dave) Moats; grandsons, Christopher Weihemuller, Ryan Weihemuller, and Matthew (Pam) Willis; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ardell (Betty) Rappuhn; sister-in-law, Patricia Rappuhn, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Dennis; parents; brothers, Leslie Rappuhn, Elmer Rappuhn, and Lewis Rappuhn; and sister-in-law, Audrey Rappuhn. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
