Elaine Palmer, age 73, of Motley, passed away on Saturday Nov 11, at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples. Funeral services are on Wednesday, Nov 15, at 11:00 am in Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Robin Collins officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 with prayers at 6:45 at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Elaine was born on June 3, 1933 in Brainerd to the late Joseph and Flossie (Fox) Knerr. She attended school in Brainerd. She was united in marriage to George Palmer on March 22, 1952. She worked at Hickerson Garment Factory in Brainerd. They moved to Staples where she worked at Carter Ringer. They lived in various areas of the State and country, returning to Staples until the time of her death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was active in the Church Guild and quilting. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, hunting, fishing, music, and skating when she was younger. She has an especially fond relationship with her family, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Denise (Doug) Aagard of Pillager, Pam (Mike) Mertens of Wadena, Mary (Mike) Martin of Staples, Terry Palmer of Oklahom; two sisters Ione Baysinger of Deer Park, Washington, Donna Pachek of Cascade, Montana; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,; husband; one son, Dennis; one great-grandson and 3 brothers, Darrel, Alvin and Mertin
