Elaine Niemann, 93, of Brainerd, went home to be with her Lord, on July 2, 2016. She had resided at Good Samaritan Society Bethany, in Brainerd. Memorial services will be on Thursday, July 7 at 2pm at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Pastor Chris Erickson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Elaine Margaret Niemann was born to Henry and Margaret (Sain) Monahan on August 17, 1922 in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Columbia Heights, and graduated from Columbia Heights High School.
She was united in marriage to Doug Niemann on March 14, 1942. They lived in Fridley until their retirement. They had built a year round cabin on Gull Lake in 1958. They later enjoyed their hobby farm in Pillager. Elaine loved to cook, play cards and travel. But most important was spending time with her family. She had such a beautiful life.
Elaine is survived by son, Ron (Rose) Niemann, of East Gull Lake; daughter-in-law Cheri Niemann, of Baxter; grandchildren, Jarrod (Daphine) Niemann, Jamie (Eric) Sullivan, Jennifer (Jason) Borders, and Ashley Niemann; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Jean Monahan of Minnetonka, MN; and one niece and four nephews.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doug; daughter Sharon, son David, and brother Gerald.
