Elaine Nelson

Elaine B. Nelson, age 89, of Pequot Lakes and Ideal Corners, was born on October 19, 1927, and passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on August 1, 2017. She is survived by her children: Candice McLaughlin (William), Sandra Ennenga (Gary), Chester Nelson (Gigi), Calvin Nelson (Connie) and Laura Kellander (Dan), 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Nelson.

Together Chester and Elaine owned and operated what is now known as the Old Milwaukee Club for 23 years.

Elaine was above all committed to her family, providing stability and consistency. She taught us commitment and showed through her example how to stick it out in difficult times. She graciously adapted to the many changes in her life. She taught us that people were more important than things. Even at her busiest, she would drop anything if a family member needed her. She was simply always there. She was hard working, determined and independent. More often than not, she was described as feisty, sassy and lots of fun, but particular about how things were to be done. She lived life to the fullest and was well loved because she loved us well. To say she will be missed is an understatement, for her passing will leave a great void.

Services will be 2 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Grace United Methodist Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pequot Lakes City Cemetery.
