Eileen Resch

Eileen was born on August 27, 1927, near Browerville, MN, to Frank and Emma (Tepley) Gaffke. She attended country school for a number of years until moving to Staples. In 1945 she graduated from the Staples High School. After High school she worked at the Olympia Café. On November 25, 1947 she married Eugene Resch and over the course of their 32 year marriage they worked together and raised eight children. Eileen was a hard worker, taking pride in every job she had. She loved dancing and old time music. She also loved arranging wedding flowers as well as gardening, canning, and baking cakes. She was dedicated to her family, and loved and cared for everyone. Eileen is survived by her children, Robert of Aldrich, MN, Dan (Laurie) of Andover, MN, Marcie (Clifford) Cederholm of Baudette, MN, James of Brainerd, MN, Yolanda (Mike) Koppes of Staples, and Melissa (Jack) Shriver of Walker, MN; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister; Margurette Mikish; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Patricia and Leroy; sister, Lorene; and granddaughter, Cindy Peterson.
