Edward Tourek

Edward Tourek, age 82, died February 19, 2008, at the Lakewood Health Care Center in Staples. Funeral Service is Friday, February 22,, 2008 at 11:00 at Brenny Funeral Home with Father Peter officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery of Browerville, MN. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Home of Staples. Edward G. Tourek was born on February 7, 1926 to Charles and Emma (Bouktah) Tourek in Ward Township, Todd County. He attended primary school in District 86 county school near Browerville and graduated with the class of 1944 from Staples High School. After graduation he attended Normal Teachers Training and taught for many years at Lake Beauty Country School near Long Prairie. He became a custodian at the Staples High School where he worked until his retirement in the late 1980s. He moved to the Lakewood Health Care Center in 2005 and has resided there until the present time. Edward is survived by his cousin, George Pipek of Staples. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers are Gary Pipek, Dan Pipek, Don Sather, Arnold Logering, Marvin Vogel, Loren Lanske. Honorary pallbearers are Don Logering, Stan Sumey, George Pipek, Leo Jambor, Ed Vogel, George Brickacek.
