Edward Tauzell

January 22, 1926 — November 11, 2007

Edward J. Tauzell, of Crosby, died at his home November 11, 2007 at age 81. He was cared for by his loving wife Marlene and family. Ed was born on January 22, 1926 in Crosby to John and Anna. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; two brothers; five sisters; and seven brother-in-laws.
Ed is survived by his wife of 19 years, Marlene; daughter Jeanne (Kevin) Stangel, of Deerwood; son Mark (Colleen) Tauzell, of Deerwood; six step-children, Lee Ann Kovatovich, of Crosby, Jill Hendrickson, of Cuyuna, Colleen Cheney, of Fridley, Mary (Tony) Goetz, of Coon Rapids, Wendy (Roger) Hamm, of Cambridge, and Terri (Geri) Cheney, of Cambridge; two brothers, John Tauzell, of Deerwood and Fred (Janelle) Tauzell, of Fifty Lakes; three sisters, Ann Shisler, of Idaho, Molly Fleming, of Thousand Palms, CA, and Helen (Butch) Stefanick, of Deerwood; fifteen grandchildren, Mitchell, Matthew, Michaela, Alexie, Katjanna, Natalja, Aryn, Ryan, Kenneth, Tony, Moriah, Jennifer, Michael, Amy, and Betsy; ten great-grandchildren; childhood friend, Nunny (Betty Lou) Vukelich, of Crosby, and many other family and friends.

Ed graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School. He enlisted in the Marie Corps on March 2, 1944 serving until April 6, 1946. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat on Iwo Jima. Ed worked in the iron mines and construction until retirement. Ed loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He liked to travel and all kinds of woodworking. Ed loved his job of twenty years on Smoke Tree Ranch in Palm Springs, CA.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crosby, MN. Memorials are preferred to the Veterans Administration.
