Edward Gryz

Edward Stephen Gryz, 86, of Pillager, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples. Memorial Services for Edward will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 19 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Deacon Mike Koechler officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will be at a later date at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Edward was born September 8, 1925, in Minneapolis, the son of Stephen and Bernice Gryz. After graduating from high school, Edward enlisted in the US Navy. He attended Vocational School and used his education for over 43 years as a Machinist for Turfco Manufacturing. Edward was united in marriage to Beverly Wick in 1945. He was a member of the American Legion in Brainerd. He enjoyed hunting, but above all he loved to fish.

He will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Beverly; son, Timothy (Janet) Gryz; daughter, Kimberly (Myron) Spath; grandchildren, Sara (Sean) Brown, and Stephanie (friend, Justin) Spath; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Aiden Brown; sister, Dorothy Gryz; and brother-in-law, Neil Wick. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stanley; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Evans.
