Edward Forpahl

Edward “Ed” Frank Forpahl, 82, formerly of Staples, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Wildflower Lodge in Maple Grove. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Camp Ripley, Little Falls, Minnesota.

Ed was born on September 08, 1938 to Frank and Cecelia (Kirby) Forpahl in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After High School graduation Ed enlisted in the United States Navy.  Then, on February 27, 1960 he married Sandra Marie Rimarcik in Minneapolis, MN. Together they had three boys. Ed worked at LeJune Steel as a welder and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ed is survived by his children David (Kathy) Forpahl of Maple Grove, Daniel (Laurel) Forpahl of Aurora, and Donald Forpahl of Randall; grandchildren Beau of St. Paul, Edward of Becker, Wade (Breanna) of Monticello, Daniel of Aurora, and James of Aurora; great ganddaughters Emma, Amelia, and Sienna; great grandson Ezra; siblings James (Sheri) Forpahl of WI, Joseph (Mary) Forpahl of Edina, Harold (Cathy) Forpahl of Warroad, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Cecelia Forpahl, and sister Mary Francis “Sis” Forpahl.
