Edward Feiler

December 24, 1945 — April 11, 2015

Edward L. Feiler, 69, of Baxter, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Essentia Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 20, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather from 2-4 PM Sunday, April 19 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. There will be a service from the Secular Franciscan Order at 3:00 PM.

Ed was born December 24, 1945, in Freeport, IL, the son of Donald C. and Frances (Horne) Feiler. The family moved to Osseo, where Ed graduated from high school in 1963. He earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Wildlife Management from the University of Minnesota. He was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne. Following his honorable discharge, he married Patricia Miles in 1972. He worked as a Regional Fisheries Manager for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources his entire career. He moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area in 1984 and retired in 2010.

Ed liked the outdoors - especially fishing, hunting, and watching birds. He was a Master Gardner with Crow Wing Master Gardeners. He was an active volunteer for Northland Arboretum and Habitat for Humanity. Ed was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. He was an avid reader and enjoyed genealogy. Ed was devoted to his family.

He will be missed by his wife, Patricia; children, Ryan Feiler, of Osseo and Paula (Aaron) Gall, of Littleton, CO; sister, Mary Frances Feiler, of Coon Rapids; and his grandchildren, Jordyn, Jadyn, Connor, Nehemiah, and Bryson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
