Edward Caneff

Edward "Ed" Caneff, age 77, of Isle died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Memorial services will be Saturday, September 10, at 2 PM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake, with visitation one hour prior to services.

Edward John Caneff was born on June 2, 1939 in Hastings, Minnesota to John and Grace (Barkdull) Caneff. He grew up in Hastings. He was married to Beverly Lorraine Lynn in South St. Paul on October 25, 1958. The family initially made their home in Inver Grove Heights, later moving to Hastings and then to Isle in 2000. Ed worked for 32 years as a materials handler for Gillette Company. Bev passed away in 2015. Ed enjoyed working on cars, camping and fishing, snowmobiling, going to the casino, and playing cards.

Ed is survived by his children, Victor (Joan) Caneff, Maple Grove, and Colleen (Duane) Bauer, Breezy Point; a daughter-in-law, Kristina Caneff, Breezy Point; grandchildren Tiffany (Brad) Sullivan, Chloe (Maurice) Parrett, Nicole (Ryan) Ellingson, Johnny Bauer, and Drew Caneff; great-grandchildren Destyni Overton, Kalea Parrett, Maurice Parrett, Sasha Ellingson, and Grace Sullivan; siblings Janice (Richard) Hicks, Holdenville, OK, Larry Caneff, Morgan, MN, Tim (Beach) Caneff, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Lin Youle, Hastings, MN, and Dennis (Linda) Bauer, Hastings, MN; and also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, John; his mom and stepdad, Grace and Matt Bauer, his wife, Bev; a son, Alan in 2015; and a great-grandchild, Maverick Ellingson, in 2016.
