Edna G. Epp, 97, of Pequot Lakes, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village in Pine River. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 30, 2014 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes. Family and friends are invited to gather one-hour prior. Interment will take place at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Pine River at 5:00 PM.
Daughter of Harry and Anna (Kroepel) Kruse, Edna was born in Hanna City, IL on November 13, 1916. As a young child, the family moved to a farm near Lakefield, MN. In 1938, she married Earl P. Epp and was employed in a creamery in Delft, MN. In 1953, the couple moved to Minneapolis with their two children, Kathleen and Richard. Upon retirement in 1976, they moved to Woman Lake near Longville, MN. Widowed in 1988, Edna moved to Pine River and later Pequot Lakes in 1994 where she lived until her death. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Richard (companion, Lonna Lysne, of Owatonna, MN), of Longville; grandchildren. Chris (Yvonne) Callahan, Sean (Connie) Callahan, of Tucson, AZ, Jennie (Abe) Lysne, of Maplewood, MN, Daniel (Melanie) Epp, of Blaine, MN; great-grandchildren, Finian Callahan, Damien Callahan, Miranda Callahan, Taylor, Deizel, Robyn Lysne, Henry Epp, Victor Epp, and Harmony Scott; and many other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; daughter, Kathleen; brothers, Emil, Elmer, and Walter Kruse; and sisters, Dorothy Lock and Hazel Smith.
