Edith Sobieck

Edith M. Sobieck, age 84, of Pequot Lakes died Friday, March 17, 2006 at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 22, at 11 am, at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes, with Reverend Father George Zeck officiating. Friends may visit at the church during the hour prior to services. Interment will be at Lake Edward Township Cemetery.
Edith Marie Lease was born February 22, 1922 in Brainerd, to Claude and Myrtle (Brady) Lease. She grew up and graduated high school in Brainerd. She was united in marriage to Casimer Sobieck on May 9, 1953, at the old Catholic church in Pequot Lakes. After their marriage Edith and Casy lived and worked in the Minneapolis area and she helped her father farm during summers. In 1980 they retired to Pequot Lakes, where Edith was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church.

Edith is mourned by her husband of 52 years, Casimer; two daughters, Carol (David) Fogel, of Brainerd and Cynthia Lease, of Pillager; a son, Eugene Sobieck, of Brainerd; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a daughter, Juliann.
