Edith Irene Cyrus, 82, of Virginia, MN was called from this life on Tuesday, November, 10, 2015 at St. Michaels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia, MN. Services for Edith will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:00PM at Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley, MN with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-1:00PM at the church. Burial will be at Poplar Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.

Edith Irene (Madson) Cyrus was born June 16, 1933, in Jordan, MT, the daughter of Edward and Irene Elverud. Edith grew up and attended school in Ronan, MT and on August 22nd1953, she was united in marriage to Robert Nels Madson. In 1968 they moved their family to MN where they farmed in Poplar township and ran a business in Motley. Edith was well known for her sewing, quilting, gardening and baking talents and guests could always expect coffee and fresh baked donuts when they stopped by. She loved writing poetry, listening to music, dancing and always had a lullaby for her grandbabies. Edith's happiest moments were when her family was together and she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Edith is survived by her daughters, Marsha (Bill) Mourin of Duluth; Linda (Bruce) Madson of Cody Wyoming; Barb (Robert) Weber-Madson of Owatonna; 2 sons, Roger of Waseca and Tracy (Bonnie) of Staples; 4 sisters, Alice (Don) Groves; Veta Gainan; Nancy Sagan, and Maxine Perry; 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Bud; 2 sisters, Jenny and Anita; 1 son, Rich; and 2 grandsons, Zachary Mourin and Jeffrey Madson.
