Eddie Farris, age 72, of Enchanted Lakes, died Thursday, August 26, 2004 at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 28, at 1 p.m., at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, with Reverend Terry Stumbo officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel for the hour prior to services. Interment will be at a later date, at Minnesota State Veteran?s Cemetery in Camp Ripley.
Eddie Farris was born March 18, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama, to Ed and Flossie (Mosley) Farris. He served in the Army from 1951-1953. He was united in marriage to Carol Horton on June 27, 1981, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Eddie worked as a welder and metal fabricator. He moved from Minneapolis to Enchanted Lakes in 1991. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling.
Eddie is survived by Carol, his wife of 23 years; three daughters, Sharon Greene of Phoenix, AZ, Sheri Horton, of Robbinsdale, and Jackie Horton, of Gary, IN; five sons, Dennis Farris, Edward ?Tory? Farris, Mark Farris, and Darrin Farris, all of Minneapolis, and Melvin Horton, of Randall; a brother, Jerome Farris, of Minneapolis; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His parents, a sister, and three brothers preceded him in death.
