Earl J Olson

Earl J Olson, 93, of Brainerd, MN passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on November 23, 2023, in Brainerd. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday December 9, 2023, at Edgewood Vista Chapel in Brainerd at 11:00am.

Earl was born on December 7, 1929, to Conrad and Agnest (Larson) Olson. He served with the United State Marines during the Korean War, from 1951 to 1953. After his discharge from the service, Earl met Marlene Johnson, and they married on July 3, 1954. Earl was employed for 44 years with the Burlington Northern Railroad and retired at age 60.

He enjoyed a day out fishing on a peaceful lake, camping, and was skilled at woodworking.

Earl is survived by his wife of 69 years (70 years in July 2024) Marlene, daughters Laura Shogren (Oscar) of Brainerd, Diane Wickham of Brainerd, and Tammy Tscheu (Tom) of Merrifield, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, his five sisters, and his son in-law Jeff Wickham.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
