DuWayne W. Johnson, 84, of Pine River, MN, passed away on April 1, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN.
DuWayne was born to Floyd and Edith (MaGaurn) Johnson on May 11, 1940, in Bemidji, MN.
He attended Bemidji High School and then enlisted in the Navy. He spent most of his time in the military on the air craft carrier USS Intrepid.
On September 21, 1963, he married Delores (Flategraff) Wolfe.
DuWayne worked in Hibbing, MN, for Super Value where he was a meat cutter for several years. They moved to Pine River in 1970 where he worked at Camp Foley summer camp for boys and girls until he retired.
DuWayne enjoyed sports, especially football and golf. He never missed a Vikings game. He loved music and dancing. He always had a joke or a story that brought laughter to those around him. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, and we will forever cherish those memories. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
DuWayne is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Mike) Cunningham; sons, Mark (Chris) Wolfe and Loren (Cindy) Wolfe; grandchildren, Megan Benzer, Daniel Cunningham, Travis Wolfe, Nicole Pai, Christopher Wolfe, Markay Nelson, and Jamie Brohman; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mary Zook and Randy Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Johnson; son, Marvin Wolfe; parents, Floyd ad Edith Johnson; and brother, Michael Johnson.
As per DuWayne’s request, no funeral service will be held.
