Duane Thrugstad

Duane Thrugstad, 85, of Brainerd, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Graveside Services with military honors will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley. Family and friends are invited to gather for a lunch at the Brainerd American Legion following the interment.

Duane was born January 3, 1926, in Edinburg, ND. Duane served in the US Army during World War II. In 1958, he was united in marriage to Lenore Crosby. He owned the taxi service in Brainerd for many years. Duane enjoyed woodworking and auto mechanics.

He will be missed by his wife, Lenore; his son, Doug, of Brainerd; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Millie, Verona, and Edwina. He was preceded in death by daughter, Lora Mae; parents; and sister, Naomi.
