Duane Schwendeman

Duane Schwendeman, age 76, of Brainerd passed away at his home Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Funeral services with military honors will be 4:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2008, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter. Friends may call for one hour prior to services at the Chapel.
Duane Arthur Schwendeman was born August 29, 1933, in Brainerd, the son of Arthur and Charlotte (White) Schwendeman. He grew up in Brainerd graduating from Brainerd High School. After his schooling he entered the United States Armed Services. Following his tours of duty he returned to Brainerd where he began his career as a truck driver doing coast to coast over the road hauling. He retired in 1989.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents. He will be lovingly missed by his sons, Dean (Cindy) Schwendeman of Westport, MN, Steven (Shelly) Schwendeman of Little Falls, MN, Jeffrey (Melissa) Schwendeman of Pequot Lakes, MN; daughters, Deborah Taylor of Dallas, TX, Rhonda of Lubbock, TX, Kimberly Schwendeman of Pierz, MN, Wanda (Craig) Courney of Minneota, MN, Jodi Marshik of Gilman, MN, and Kristi (Derrick) Schwendeman of Long Prairie, MN; 34 ½ grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; brother, Ronald Schwendeman of North Cove, WA; and 2 sisters, Lila Thady of Brainerd and Carol Krueger of Brainerd.
