Dr. Swanson

Dr. Vivian Anderson Swanson, 81, of the Brainerd Lakes Area, died on Wednesday, January, 24, 2018 at Brainerd, MN. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

Vivian was born in Denver, CO on July 12, 1936. She was a graduate of Fort Morgan High School and the University of Northern Colorado. Later she earned her Doctorate at Ohio State University. Vivian was an elementary school teacher and principal in the Duluth school system for 20 years, then taught in the Education Department of Bethel College for 16 years. In 1982, she married John Swanson. After retirement, they spent their summers at the lake cottage near Brainerd and winters in south Alabama near the gulf coast.

She is survived by her husband, John; and step-daughters, Judy and Jean Swanson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
