Dr. Farrell Patrick Sievers, age 79, passed away December 5, 2011, at his home in Hackensack, after a courageous year-long battle with melanoma. He was born July 29, 1932, in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1950. He later graduated from St. Thomas College and earned a Doctorate degree from the University of South Dakota. Later, Farrell moved his family to Bloomington where he worked for the school district for 30 years as a teacher and school psychologist. He was an accomplished athlete and coach for many football, softball, and basketball teams in Minneapolis. In 1987, he moved to the family resort in Hackensack. Farrell enjoyed golfing, working at the resort, and spending winters in Port Isabel, TX.
Farrell is survived by children: Theresa, Daniel, Kellen (Laura), and Colin (Lori); grandchildren: Caley, Molly (Erik), Alec, Blake, Carson; great granddaughter, Alice; sisters: Beverly Sievers and Marny Schoen; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend of 54 years, Patricia, and his parents, Buerdette and Marguerite Sievers.
Services will be 12 PM, on Thursday, December 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hackensack. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hackensack. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
