Douglas Vogel

Douglas Vogel, 63, of Motley, MN passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Memorial Service for Doug will be at 3:00PM, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 1:00 until the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Star of the North Marine Corps League and the Minnesota Patriot Guard.

Douglas was born February 18, 1953 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Leo and Joan (Adamietz) Vogel. He graduated from Pillager High School in 1971. Doug entered the US Air Force in 1971 and then later joined the US Marine Corps, retiring as a Major in 1994. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Puget Sound College. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, reading, watching the news and following politics.

Doug is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; son, Calvin (Jamie) Vogel; sister, Rebecca (Chris) Meade; step mother, Evelyn Vogel and her family; step sons, Chad (LaVonne) Clark, Travis (Jill) Clark, Justin (Alexis) Clark; step grandchildren, Blake, Caitlyn, Jerzy, Taylor, Jason, Mark, Justin; niece, Andrea; his Olde English Bulldog, Parker (Meathead); and numerous other relatives. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Leo; mother, Joan; brother, Stephen; and nephew, Michael. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
