Douglas Toms

Douglas Toms, age 53, a resident of Brainerd, died unexpectedly Sunday 4/9/06 at St Cloud Hospital. Services will be Thursday 4/13/06, at 11 am, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ivy Borgstrom officiating. Friends may call1 hr prior to services at the church.
Douglas Toms was born on 8/15/1952 at Rock Rapids, Iowa, son of Donald and Arlene (Holthusen) Toms. He graduated from Luverne High School then attended Mankato State University. He was an insurance adjuster. He was united in marriage to Darla Mead on 5/12/1984 in Willmar. They moved to Brainerd in 1989, where he worked at Craguns as a salesman, then Northland Monument. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brainerd. He enjoyed sports, especially hockey.

Douglas Toms is survived by his wife, Darla; his mother, Arlene Toms, of Baxter; 2 daughters, Amy Gades, of Grove City and Jessa Toms, of Brainerd; 2 sons, Jason (Sandy) Mead, of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Zachary Toms, of Brainerd; 1 sister, Sue LeSage, of Grand Portage; 1 brother; Bob Toms, of Albia, Iowa; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.
