Douglas Loftis

Douglas Loftis, 75, of Nisswa, MN died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Lakewood Health Systems Care Center in Staples, MN. A Memorial Service for Doug will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Doug was born November 23, 1943 in Staples, MN to John and Camila (Kral) Loftis. He was raised and educated in Leader and graduated from Motley High School in 1961. Doug married Ann Hines on July 10, 1962. They lived in the Pillager area. Doug worked at the Pillager Schools for 33 years, beginning as a custodian, and retiring as Grounds Supervisor. Ann died in December of 2007. Doug enjoyed farming, animals, his pet turkey and chipmunk, hunting, fishing, gardening, outdoors, winter trips to the Padre Islands, and riding his Can Am Spider.

Doug is survived by his children, Scott (Sue) Loftis of Motley, Mn, Heavenly (Rob) Smith of Nisswa, MN; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Darlene (Dennis) Harper of Andover, Mary (Jerry) Kytta of Maple Grove, Greg (Carla) Loftis of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann and sister, Marlane Ravey.
