Dorothy Zech

Dorothy Marie Zech, 93, of Brainerd, died Monday, November 3, 2008 at St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd. Private family services with an interment in Milbank, SD will be held at a later date. Dorothy was born January 30, 1915 in Rugby, ND, the daughter of Hardy and Pearl (Wertz) Wedegartner. She was united in marriage to Lynn K. Zech on June 10, 1937 in Aberdeen, SD. The couple lived in several communities in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota, including Dickinson, ND from 1952 - 1957 due to Lynns employment with JC Penny Company.
Dorothy enjoyed painting, golfing, sewing, cooking, card playing and entertaining. She truly loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Gary (Joyce) Zech, of Pittsboro, NC and Rodney Zech, of Brainerd; her daughter, Julie (Jim) Giles, of Brainerd; ten grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lynn; her daughter, Lynda; her son, Jim; and two sisters, Marion and Harriet.
