Dorothy Trana, 91, of Staples, MN died Friday, May 1, 2015 at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00AM Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Joe Korf officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 5:00-7:30PM Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Dorothy was born September 14, 1923 in Staples, MN to John and Pauline (Jarosch) Kennedy. She attended and graduated from Staples High School. Dorothy was united in marriage to Norman "Shorty" Trana on June 10, 1942 in Staples, MN. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Dorothy worked with her husband at Shorty's Locker Plant in Staples and then at Lakewood Health System as a Dietary Aide for many years. She also was a Foster Grandparent at Staples Elementary School. Dorothy enjoyed bingo, embroidering, dancing, country music and especially family gatherings.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Judy Trana of Motley, MN, DeAnna Meek of Motley, MN; grandchildren, Shelly and Jay; six great grandchildren; five step grandchildren, Gwenda, Barbara, Joyce, Raymond, Rhonda; 16 step great grandchildren and 12 step great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman "Shorty"; and all of her siblings. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
