Dorothy Rono

Dorothy Ann Rono, 86, of Crosby, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday November 20, 2019. A celebration of life will be held 1-2:00PM Saturday November 23, 2019 at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Crosslake, interment will follow at Pinewood Cemetery.

Dorothy was born in Crosby on December 22, 1932 to Frank and Barbara (Herriot) Goette. She graduated from Crosby High School, and married Ole (Gene) Rono on October 31, 1951. Dorothy worked as a seamstress, waitress, and line worker, but her role as a wife and mother was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards, and solving crossword puzzles.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Marta (Arne) Swanson, Pamela (David) Straka; sons Russell E. Rono, Randy (Bobbye) Rono, Robert M. Rono; grandchildren Amanda (Dustin) Voller, John E. Swanson (Miranda King); great-grandchildren Bree Voller, Hunter Voller; brother Paul Goette.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Gene; infant daughter; parents; sisters Caroline Starry, Lillian Goette; brothers William Goette, Clarence Goette, and James Goette.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
