Dorothy R. Radke passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Diamond Willow in Little Falls, MN.
Dorothy was born on February 7, 1930, in Nashville, TN, to George and Sarah Vick. Dorothy met Vernon at a YWCA dance in Nashville and they were married on October 30, 1953, in Springfield, TN. They moved back to Minnesota in December of 1954, purchasing the farm where they resided until Vernon passed and Dorothy moved to Diamond Willow in March of 2021.
Vernon and Dorothy loved to travel and visited many states and countries around the world. Some of their favorite trips included Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, and numerous U.S. states. They spent a number of winters in Weslaco, TX, where they made a number of good friends.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Leonard (Randall, MN); daughter, Vickie (Fargo, ND); son, David (Randall, MN); son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Debra (Perley, MN); and numerous family members.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her spouse, Vernon A. Radke; parents, George and Sarah Vick; sisters, Jean Nelson and Juanita Brant; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Matilda Radke; brother-in-law, Leonard; sister-in-law, Agatha; brother-in-law, Richard Berndt; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Irene and Harold Johnson; and nephew, Arlen Berndt.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cushing. Pastor Carl Larson will officiate, and burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to CHI Hospice at St. Gabriel's Health.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Randall.
