Dorothy Olson

Dorothy Olson, age 96, of Pine River, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007 at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center in Pine River. She was born April 2, 1911 in Nebraska to Ben and Bertha Weaver. She married Glenn Olson on November 29, 1928 in Balaton, MN. In 1937, they moved north of Pine River where they farmed for ten years, then moved into Pine River where Dorothy has resided ever since. Dorothy enjoyed reading, sewing and watching the Minnesota Vikings.
She is survived by her sons: Gene Olson (Marlene) of Hackensack, Chuck Olson of Rice; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; son, Dene; and daughter-in-law, Carole Olson.
Services were 11 AM on Saturday, December 29 at Pine River United Methodist Church with Pastor Lois Hansen officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Backus. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
