Dorothy Newcomb

Dorothy Genevieve Newcomb, 82, died Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Elim Home in Princeton, MN. Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 1 PM at St. James in Randall, with Fr. Jimmy Joseph officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, in Little Falls.

Dorothy was born to Ernest and Louise (Griffin) Andres on January 23, 1930 in Randall, MN. She graduated from Little Falls High school in 1948. The following year on May 13, 1949 she was married to James Newcomb. In 1976 she moved to Zimmerman where she continued working as a waitress and bartender, until she retired in 1989. Dorothy was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by James, her husband of 63 years; children, Diana (Les) Murray, Douglas (Gayle) Newcomb, Jody (Jerry) Wiltsey, James (Deb) Newcomb Jr., Jan Newcomb, Patty (Dan) Gardas; Daughter in-law, Karon Hagen; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven; stepson, Lester; brothers, Harold Andres, Ben Andres, Wally Andres and Andy Andres; sisters, Eleanor Hines and Marion Bono.
