Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy M. Johnson, 86, of Pine River, MN died on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village in Pine River, MN. Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes, MN at 11:00AM. Interment will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Dorothy was born on October 3, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Ann (Beyer) Payne. She worked for Sears Department Store. Dorothy was united into marriage to Howard Johnson in November 1947. They moved to Forest Lake, MN then to Brooklyn Park and retired on Lake Hattie in Pine River, MN. She was a member of the Backus, MN Senior Center. Dorothy enjoyed needlepoint, embroidery, watching and feeding birds. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy liked going for a pontoon ride, figure skating, and watching a beautiful sunset.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, LouAnn (Martin) Bouley of Elk River, MN and Norine (Randy) Henke of Prior Lake, MN; son, Robert Johnson of Brainerd, MN; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ann; and husband, Howard. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes, MN.
