Dorothy Ives

Dorothy Ives, 98, of Motley, formally of Northeast Minneapolis, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Harmony House. A memorial service will be announced at a later date for in the summer.

Dorothy was born to Hugo and Alice (Jarvis) Oswald on August 14, 1914 in Minneapolis. She was united in marriage to Virgil Ives, on July 15, 1933 at Our Savior Church in North Minneapolis. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking, and was active at church. She enjoyed music, dancing and playing pull-tabs.

Dorothy is survived by sister, Ruby Ornstein of Hemet, CA; daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Heiges of Coon Rapids, MN, Laurel (Bill) Gordon of No Pekin, IL, Nancy Smith of Valrico, FL; sons, Donald (Joan) Ives of Staples, MN, Walter (Donna) Ives of Minneapolis, MN, Les Ives of Fargo, ND. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, gr. great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Hugo E. W. Oswald and Alice Mary Jarvis Oswald; daughters, Donna Mae, and Baby girl Ives; son, LeRoy V. Ives; husband, Virgil J. Ives; and seven siblings.
