Dorothy Fornshell, 80, of Pillager, MN, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 08, 2010 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Services for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 11 at First Lutheran Church in Pillager with Pastor Heather Culuris and Pastor Juli Sutton-Deem officiating. Friends are welcome to gather Friday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager.
Dorothy was born February 22, 1930, in Atlantic, IA the daughter of George and Grace (Fisher) Eppelsheimer. Dorothy attended Sun Rise School and later graduated from Pillager High School in 1947. She met Bert Fornshell and the couple was married on September 18, 1948. Bert and Dorothy moved to Portland, OR before returning to Pillager in 1955. She worked for the State of Minnesota for 28 years. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, being a member of the Red Hat Society, bird-watching, and having coffee at the café. Dorothy most loved spending time with her family.
Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children, Randy (Bonnie) Fornshell of Milltown, WI, Debra (Keith) Skeesick of Motley, MN, and Cindy (Arlo Rohl) Barnett of Pillager, MN; seven grandchildren, Tania (Darin) Bjornson, Kandi (Matthew) Gardner, Sara (Christopher) Nagel, Nathan Brunzel-Rohl, Kristopher (Ali) Mertens, Gina (Aric) Tourville, Kylie (Wendy) Skeesick, and Kody Skeesick; 13 great grandchildren, Joshua, Alexis, Hunter, Tanner, Tyler, Jesse, Levi, Kassie, Grace, Lily, Jack, and Berkley; brother, Duane (Delores) Eppelsheimer; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; her sisters-in-law, Jeanette Fornshell, Alta (Bud) Loucks, Betty Farber, and Lorraine Fornshell; and her special dogs, Cookie and Lily. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bert; her parents, George and Grace and many extended family members.
