Dorothy Christensen

Dorothy A. Christensen, 77, of Brainerd, passed away November 9, 2010 at St. Joseph's Medical Center. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 15, 2010 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Steve Laflamme officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services and also immediately following the services for a luncheon at the Brainerd VFW. Private family interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy was born July 6, 1933, in Dickenson, ND, the daughter of Isadore and Katherine (Mons) Martin. She was married in 1958 to Leland Christensen. She worked for a number of years with Jackie Hubert at Camp Laundry. She also worked at Giant Wash and was a foster grandparent for a number of years at the YMCA and the Brainerd State Hospital.

Dorothy will be missed by her children, Debra (Harry) Seibert, of McGregor, MN, Allan (Amy) Christensen, of Brainerd, and Kevin Christensen, of Brainerd; six grandchildren; and her sisters, Ann Phillips, of Minneapolis, Martha Koester, of Swanville, and Catherine Betts, of Brainerd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; her son, Timothy; her parents; her brothers, Donald, Clarence and Morris; and her sisters, Pauline, Mary, and Georgina.
