Dorothy Bryngelson

Dorothy Irene Bryngelson, 90, of Walker, Minn, and formerly Longville, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Golden Living Center, in Walker.
She was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Liscomb, Iowa, the daughter of Roscoe and Winnie (Neff) Fiscus. She lost her parents when she was young, then was raised by Charles and Myrtle Long. She married Carl Bryngelson on Jan. 1, 1939, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Dunbar, Iowa. She was a beautician for a few years, then took time off to raise a family. She then worked for many years as a waitress at Lloyd�s Supper Club, in Marshalltown, Iowa. In 1963 she and her family moved to Longville, where she and her husband owned and operated the bowling alley. She then worked as a clerk at Kellogg�s Store for a number of years. The couple enjoyed numerous fishing trips, and an extended Alaskan vacation together. She also enjoyed word find and jigsaw puzzles, embroidering, and taking walks. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by: her children, Douglas Bryngelson, and his wife, Arlene, of Duluth, Minn., Linda Olson, and her husband, Dick, of Longville, and David Bryngelson, and his wife, Cheryl, of Evanston, Wyo.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Louise Parker, and her husband, Roy, of McHenry, Ill. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband of 56 years,Carl; one daughter, Kathy Dickson, and son-in-law, Daryl Dickson; one brother, Delos Fiscus; and one sister, Ruth Small.
