Dorothy Olivia Grant was born on March 31, 1922, Dorothy lived her entire life in the Staples community. Following graduation from Staples High school, she married Stanley Borle on April, 4, 1942 and they raised three children: Dennis, Stanley and Kenneth. Together Dorothy and Stan placed little value on extended travel, material possessions or self recognition, but enjoyed a quiet peaceful life. Dorothy was active in her Church, enjoyed crafts (especially knitting) and always looked forward to the many trips she went on with the community travel club. She also loved to be outdoors and around water, and treasured her summers at their cabin on Lake Shamineau and then later at their home along the Crow Wing River. While the children were growing up, Dorothy was a homemaker and then later worked for 15 years at the Ben Franklin store in Staples. Up to the time of her death, enjoyed playing cards and receiving visitors, making everyone feel at home. Her grandkids will forever remember her wonderful caramel rolls, chocolate cookies and lefse, generously offered at every visit. Dorothy will always be remembered as a quiet unassuming person, never judgmental and always supportive of her family in whatever their pursuits. To the end she retained her quiet sense of humor and grace. Memorials to United Methodist Church 310 5th St. NE Staples MN 56479.
