Dorothy Bentler

Dorothy Bentler, 81, of Cushing, MN died at her home on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11:00AM at St. James Catholic Church in Randall, MN with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 2:00-4:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, MN and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Interment will be held at St. James Cemetery in the spring.

Dorothy was born on January 10, 1935 in Ogema Village, MN to Herman and Margaret (Jasken) Teiken. She graduated from Waubun High School and St. Francis School of Nursing with an RN degree. Dorothy worked in the operating room at St. Gabriel's Hospital for 40 years. She was united into marriage in 1957 to Alfred Bentler. She retired in 1995 and loved living at her lake home on Lake Alexander. She was a member of VFW Auxillary, St. James CCW, and Lake Alexander Book Club. Dorothy enjoyed cribbage, crossword puzzles, going to the casino, and needlework . She liked to entertain family and friends, snowmobiling, hunting, and reading. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Mary Leader of Brainerd, MN, Joanne (Mark) Kolbeck of Baxter, MN, and Timothy Bentler- Jungr of Arlington, VA, Jacquelin Bentler of Mahonomen, MN, and Kenneth (Heather) Bentler of Kremmling, CO; siblings, Dalorus Hanowski of Little Falls, MN, Anne (Jack) Alexander of Detroit Lakes, MN, Otto (Harriet) Teiken of Eden Prairie, MN, Kenneth Teiken of Texas, and Judy (Bob) Necas of Arizona; and five grandchildren, Alaina, Vanessa, Brian, Jacob, and Mirek. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Al; brothers, Vernon, Harold, Richard, Duane, and Jack; and sisters, Marie and Carol. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall, MN.
